In April 2025, I retired after a 45-year career in the airline industry—44 of those years spent in network planning.

Over the course of my career, I had the privilege of working for three truly great airlines, each unique and influential in its own way:

  • 1980–1985: New York Air – the spirited startup born out of deregulation and a trailblazer in its time.

  • 1986–2014: American Airlines – during those years, the best-run airline in the industry, setting the standard for excellence.

  • 2015–2025: Southwest Airlines – the most successful airline of its era, known for its consistency, innovation, and strong culture.

I was fortunate to work alongside some of the smartest and most talented people in the business. I learned a tremendous amount from them—lessons that shaped not only my career, but also how I view the industry as a whole.

Now that I’ve retired, I’d like to share some of that knowledge here. This site is my way of giving back, passing along insights and stories that might be helpful to anyone interested in the airline business, especially in the fascinating world of network planning.

Best Regards,
